Terms of use
Last updated 17 August 2026
The short version. TicksHook is free. Use it as much as you like. Do not fake your progress to climb the ranking, do not put anything abusive in your display name, and understand that coins and cosmetics are decoration inside a game — they are not money and cannot be cashed out.
Using the app
TicksHook is provided free of charge, for personal use. You do not need an account. If you create one, you are responsible for what happens under it, and you agree not to share it.
Your display name
The display name is the only thing about you other people see, so it has to behave: no impersonating someone else, no abuse, harassment, slurs or sexual content, and nothing that would identify a private individual. We may remove a name that breaks this, or the account behind it.
Keeping the ranking honest
The world ranking and the study group only mean something if the numbers are real. You agree not to submit sessions you did not actually sit through, whether by automating the timer, tampering with the app, or sending fabricated data to our servers.
The server independently checks what it credits towards rankings, and sessions that fail those checks still count towards your own private stats but not towards your rank. We may also remove entries or suspend accounts where progress is clearly faked.
Coins, cosmetics and chests
Coins are earned inside the game and buy cosmetic items only — they never buy time, XP or shortcuts. They have no cash value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and we do not owe you anything for them. If your progress is lost or reset, we are not able to compensate you for it.
Availability
We make no promise that the site will be available, or that your cloud progress will always be there. Things break, services go down, and this is a free app run by one person. The timer itself keeps working without an account, which is the best guarantee we can honestly offer.
The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it — including lost progress, lost streaks or lost time.
Your data
What we store and who can see it is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Ending it
You can stop using TicksHook at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing nowshadmahbub19@gmail.com. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.
Changes
These terms may change as the app grows. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
